Gianni Guarnieri is a lawyer of recognized competence in administrative law, public commercial law and energy law, with significant experience in M&A operations in the renewable energy sector and in purchase and sale of projects and production plants of electricity and gas.
He graduated with honors at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, and worked for over 10 years at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Handicraft (now called the Ministry of Economic Development), at the General Direction of Sources of Energy and Basic Resources, as legal expert and responsible for litigation.
In 2002 Gianni started his own professional activity and since 2014 he has been a qualified lawyer before the Higher Jurisdictions, assisting public and private companies operating in the matter of energy, gas and local public services (water and waste), with particular attention to the themes concerning the production of electricity, efficiency and savings energy and the related public support schemes (White Certificates and incentives provided by the GSE).
He is also an expert in environmental thematic and sector contracts (PPA, Take-or-Pay, O&M, fuel supply and energy trading), as well as in the matter of procurement (EPC), construction and urban planning and in procedures for release of consent for the construction and operation of power plants, infrastructures and related works, with a significant track record acquired in the authorization procedures of the energy recovery plants from waste and in the related litigation.
Gianni has been following environmental energy issues since the early 1990s, Gianni is considered one of the leading professionals in Italy, obtaining various awards to qualify international legal titles (Chambers Europe, Legal 500 EMEA and Who’s who legal).
